In case you are curious about the header image: It is a photograph of a water jet `paused’ using stroboscopic light, which I took at Singapore science centre.
About me: just another nutcase trying to find out what is inside his shell. Following is (partly) who I am.
I come from the western state of Gujarat from India. My father Mr. Badresh Mehta and my mother Mrs. Sunanda Mehta both have lived thrifty lives to fund our education and growth. I am married to lovable lady whom people call Nalinee and I, Neelu. We have become proud parents of lovely boy, Shashvat (sanskrit word meaning ‘eternal’ or ‘truth’) in July 09.
Currently I am working towards doctoral degree as part of NUS Graduate School for Integrative Sciences & Engineering in area of high-resolution quantitative microscopy of optically transparent specimens and applications to biology. I graduated with Bachelor in Engineering in ECE (Electronics & Communication) and Master in Technology in ICT (Information & Communication Technology) from India. I worked with IIT, Bombay for 6 months and with DRDO, India (Defense Research & Development Organization) for 18 months before joining doctoral program at NUS. My younger brother, Kalpesh, also is pursing PhD within same program but he likes the field of electromagentic simulations and design of contrast agents for optical coherence tomography.
My hobbies include photography, travel, reading, writing and tinkering.
